Worktop Aftercare

Boiling water and cooking splashes do not harm the surface. However dishes straight from the oven or hob could do so. It is therefore recommended that these items are placed on a worktop saver. To clean your worktop, use water and mild detergent. Persistent marks can be removed with a non-abrasive cream cleaner, but harsh scouring powders and creams should be avoided. A nylon bristle hand brush can be used to remove stains from deep textured finishes.

Water will not harm the surface unless allowed to lie on a joint (i.e a kettle standing over the joint). Crockery and normal kitchen utensils sliding on the surface should not harm it (except with high gloss finishes, sliding items on the surface is not advised). We recommend that when cutting with knives or sharp utensils you use a chopping board. Always wipe spillages such as beetroot juice, concentrated fruit juices and strong bleaches off immediately as these can cause staining.

Beware some wooden worktop edging has a painted finish which will deteriorate rapidly if not cleaned using the above instructions.
